Welcome to the Children’s Therapy Services Specialized Programs. The programs are an opportunity for children to receive a therapy experience in a small group setting. The programs are open to both children who are current clients as well as those who are not. Feel free to call our office if you have further questions. Early registration is recommended as our programs are anticipated to fill quickly.
Mary Jane Guymon is currently a music specialist within the Lincoln-Way High School child care system. She was the music speciali8st for Good Shepherd Center for Exceptional Children for twelve years. Mary Jane taught parent-toddler music at Flossmoor Community Preschool for ten years. She has also taught at Speed Early Learning Center, Kindermusik in Park Forest, and preschool music at Ancona Montessori School in Hyde Park. Mary Jane was co-director of the highly regarded Drama Group Kids Camp for nine years. She is a proud member of the Actors Equity Association and can be seen performing through the Chicagoland area. Mary Jane holds a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from Brigham Young University. She has received extensive training from the Illinois Early Intervention Program and is trained Kindermusik educator.
Come enjoy a class for children and parents with fun music, small hand instruments, movement and laughter. This class is created to build language skills, social relationships, sensory processing, motor development and most importantly, celebrate life!

Monique Prohaska, MA ATR is a Registered Art Therapist through the Art Therapy Credentials Board and has ten years of experience working with children and adolescents in schools and in special education. She is a graduate of the Art Therapy Masters Program at the University of Illinois. Monique also created the Art Therapy Program at the Southwest Cook County Cooperative and has worked extensively with their Alternative and Communication Development Program.
Come and enjoy a small group art experience for children and parents with exploration, experimentation and imagination! These groups are designed to encourage the child to choose his/her own topic for their artwork. All groups will incorporate exploration of various art materials: drawing, painting, collage and printmaking. Verbal discussion will focus on thoughts and feelings about experimenting with the art materials and creating personal artwork.
